A Windshield Repairman is Charged for Rape of a Minor
Forty-five-year-old Ervin Middleton, a windshield repairman of a Santa Barbara Street address, appeared unrepresented before the magistrate’s court earlier today where he was read a single, indictable charge of rape of a child. It is alleged that two years ago, sometime during September 2020, he forced a thirteen-year-old girl into having sexual intercourse with him. On July twenty-first of this year, the minor, now fifteen-years old, reported the matter to the police and a subsequent medical examination certified that she was carnally known. On Wednesday, Middleton was detained and escorted to the police station where he was charged with the offense. Due to the nature of the offense, no plea was taken in court from Middleton and bail was denied. He was remanded into custody at the Belize Central Prison until November fourteenth, 2022.
