Deputy P.M. thanks all for assistance
News Five also spoke with Deputy Prime Minister John Briceño, who although he had only been sworn in two months ago, shouldered the enormous responsibility of leading the country during the hurricane threat.
John Briceño, Deputy Prime Minister
“I think I must thank all the help that I had; all of the ministers were out there assisting us, some of the permanent secretaries. And I also would like to take this advantage to give thanks to the Prime Minister who had the confidence in me to be able to act. It was a team effort; it was not myself. The Senior Minister, I think we need to mention him, the Honorable George Price, who was there with us all through this. He never left that room, ensuring, giving his advice, his experience to us and that really, really made a difference for all of us. We as a nation, we must count our blessings; we must thank the good Lord for saving us from Hurricane Mitch. And thanks to everybody for cooperating with us.”
