Cisco gets highway contract
The stretch of the Hummingbird Highway between the Sibun River Bridge to the Caves Branch Bridge will be rehabilitated with funds secured from the eighth European Development Fund. This afternoon in Belmopan the Prime Minister signed the contract for almost nine million dollars which was awarded to Cisco Construction Company owned by John Woods. Besides general improvements to the surface of the road, embankments along the eight miles of highway will be widened, and drainage improved. According to the Prime Minister’s office, the work is expected to begin immediately and should be completed by June of the year two thousand.
