Vehicle Set on Fire in Belize City
Earlier that same day, there was another case of arson, this time on Antelope Street in Belize City. Just before five a.m., police responded to a report of a vehicle on fire. There they found a silver, 2003 Toyota Sequoia, the property of Paul Gamboa, engulfed in flames. Fire personnel managed to extinguish the fire, but Gamboa remains perplexed because he told police that he had been parking the vehicle on Antelope Street for two days prior to the incident and that it was in working condition.
ASP Fitzroy Yearwood, Communications Director, Belize Police Department
“Police visited a scene on Antelope Street where they saw a Toyota Sequoia engulfed in flames. The owner of that vehicle has since reported to police that the vehicle was not insured. It belongs to a car dealer, Mister Paul Gamboa. And he is saying that he parked the vehicle there for two days prior to finding it engulfed and the vehicle was in working condition when he parked it there. We know that police are following up several leads and we are waiting for the fire department report to point us in the direction for our investigation.”
The vehicle was not insured and its estimated value was twelve thousand five hundred dollars.
