Man tries to shoot wife
Police have released details of an incident of domestic violence over the weekend which has the common law husband in custody for reportedly trying to kill his wife with a sawed off shotgun. Police and B.D.F. personnel responded to the scene on Vernon Street Sunday afternoon and were told by Amanda Gabourel that Richard Rudon had come to her house asking for his daughter. She told him the child was asleep and in response he took out the gun, pointed it at her and fired. Fortunately the bullet missed Gabourel and hit a chair. Rudon was apprehended by police on Tuesday and has been charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault. Police say they also recovered a twelve-gauge shotgun and ten cartridges.
