Prison Official Says B.D.F. Officer Gave No Suicidal Clues

Captain Coc’s suicide came as a surprise to prison officials, who normally look out for signs from inmates as a part of their training. Murillo told us that Captain Coc was remanded for a month and that he showed no signs of suicidal tendencies during the period that he was incarcerated at the facility.

“This is why it caught everybody by surprise because earlier that morning two officers interacted with him briefly. As a matter of fact, one officer asked him if he was okay and he said yes everything was okay. And even to that guard – he’s been here like a month because he came into the prison on the twenty-fifth of August so we would not say that he just arrived here last and we’re not too sure what kind – frame of mind he was in. All along, every prison officer that may have interacted with him during his short stay never picked up on anything that was amiss. So there were really no telltale signs so when they found out this happened it kinda shocked everybody.”

While this is the second B.D.F. member to commit suicide in under two months, the last time that an inmate committed suicide at the prison was in 2019.
