B.T.L. Reports $16 Million in Profits for 2021/2022

Belize Telemedia Limited hosted its sixteenth annual general meeting this morning.  The A.G.M., held virtually by means of Microsoft Teams, was used to announce the company’s profits over the past fiscal year.  B.T.L. reported a profit of sixteen million dollars after expenses during the financial period 2021/2022.  According to Chairman Mark Lizarraga, the telecoms provider performed exceptionally well over the past twelve months, with earnings per share increasing four-fold when compared to the previous fiscal year.

“I’m extremely pleased to report to you today that B.T.L. has had a solid financial year 2021-2022.  B.T.L. performed exceptionally well, despite all the challenges we’ve had locally and globally and despite all the challenging economic times and conditions. Our consolidated revenues were a hundred and forty-one point three million, providing a significant improvement in the company’s net income, bringing it sixteen point one million for this fiscal year just past. This sixteen point one million profit for B.T.L. ladies and gentlemen, represents a ten point seven million or a hundred and ninety-seven percent increase from the previous year’s figure of five point four million. As a result of this performance, the level of earnings per share has quadrupled to twenty-nine cents from seven cents the previous fiscal year. Our return on equity was eight point six percent or eighty percent improved as compared to the previous year. As a result of the improved financial performance, we are happy to announce that dividends per share will be doubled, compared to the previous year.”
