Drug bust leads to illegal guns
A search for drugs in Belize City has led to the discovery of an illegal substance far more deadly: guns. Early Friday morning police entered the home of twenty-four year old fish vendor Freddy Grant at forty East Collet Canal. In addition to finding three parcels of suspected marijuana they also recovered a nine millimeter Ruger pistol loaded with eight rounds of ammunition, as well as a loaded twenty-two caliber revolver. Grant and another occupant of the house, Robert Alexander, have been charged with drug possession and trafficking, as well as two counts of possessing an unlicensed firearm.
