Ex B.D.F. is Acquitted of the Murder of Felina James

Albert Moreira

Former Belize Defense Force soldier Albert Moreira was the last person to see his ex-wife alive before she went missing in October 2018.  Several days later, the badly decomposed body of Felina James was discovered along the Coastal Road approximately two and a half miles from La Democracia Village. Not far from her corpse was the burnt vehicle that she had been driving. But tonight, Albert Moreira is a free man, following a murder trial which ended in a no case submission.  What initially appeared to be an airtight case against the estranged husband unraveled in court when the crown failed to call on two supporting witnesses to help in sealing a conviction.  The matter which began on September twenty-second, was heard before Justice Ricard O’Neil Sandcroft.  Moreira was represented in court by attorney Oscar Selgado and had been on remand since October 2018.
