Guatemalan arrested in Orange Walk robbery
In Orange Walk, police have caught up with one of three men who held up a grocery shop last month. On September twenty-sixth, the trio, one armed with a knife and another with a gun, are reported to have entered Margarita Salazar’s grocery shop in Orange Walk Town and ordered soft drinks. One of the men paid for the drinks and while Salazar was proceeding to the cash drawer, the three of them allegedly approached her and demanded money. Salazar told police that she handed over four hundred dollars and a carton of cigarettes to the assailants who escaped on bicycles. Police investigation led to the arrest of twenty-five year old Guatemalan national Leonel Chincilla on Tuesday. Chincilla, who had previously been charged for the possession of an unlicensed twelve-gauge shotgun, has now been charged for the crime of robbery. The two other suspects, both Guatemalan nationals, are being sought by police.
