Sports Council appointed, finds new basketball court in trouble

Members of the National Sports Council have been appointed and that body is making plans for action. The council is chaired by Marshall Nunez and includes Allan Sharp as first vice chairman, Andrew Smiling as second vice chariman, Yvonne Robinson as secretary and Russel Vellos as treasurer. Committee members are Rushiel Bevans, Nelson Hyde, Peter Thomas, Marvin Ottley, David Craig, Jude Lizama, Edison Parks, Arun Hotchandani and Kevin Castillo. In a press release issued today the council reports that the new City Centre basketball court, purchased at a cost of over two hundred thousand dollars, is losing resin from its wooden tiles. This, according to the manufacturer, is because the court was designed for air conditioned arenas. No remedy was prescribed. A general meeting of all sporting organizations has been scheduled by the council for October twenty fourth.
