Accused European forger dies in prison
It was a strange crime to begin with, but now the case of two European forgers caught in Belize has become even stranger. Police report that Sunday afternoon prison officials discovered the body of thirty four year old Spaniard Kartheinz Gatscher in his cell. Gatscher, who was on remand along with his Italian partner for trying to cash stolen travelers cheques and other crimes, apparently died of an incurable illness. A post-mortem is expected to provide details.
