Mind Education in Youths Being Explored During Youth Forum in Belize
A group of youth leaders from Korea, who engage in mind education, is currently in Belize for a forum with the Minister of Youth. The forum follows an invitation extended to Minister of Youth, Rodwell Ferguson to attend an international youth conference in Korea in August that looked at transforming the mindset of young people. Success at this would reflect on how much youths engage in criminal or negative activities. The Minister explained.
Rodwell Ferguson, Minister of Youth
“Many countries have been involved maybe ten, fifteen years ago. It’s the first time Belize got involved. So Mister Jermaine Garvey was assigned to Belize, I think it was last year October, so he approached me and said “Minister of Youth, I want to see how we can work together to transform the minds of your young people.” So he told me of the conference in Korea in August and right away I said it’s interesting so I want to go. And when I reached there, they told me that they send teams across the world. And hopefully by October of next year they are going to send a team to Belize. So they are here now, about fifteen of them to reach out to our young people. They want to see if Belize would include mind education in their curriculum, starting from the age of three – preschool up until university. By doing that at that early age, they will change their mindset from what they are doing now with murder, drugs, alcoholism, whatever. So when I went to Korea, I didn’t see anybody idling. Everybody is productive, has a job because their mindset has been changed to be productive.”
