Artist’s skills continue to grow
You’ve seen his work on this newscast before, but as I discovered this morning, artist Alex Sanker just keeps getting better and better.
In the five years that Alex Sanker has been painting, there has been a tremendous improvement in this artist’s work. According to the artist, while he does not believe he has reached perfection, his skills have clearly grown.

“I paint this piece, you could see behind us, this little girl holding a flag of Belize, looking at it being proud right. So basically, I was preparing for this bicentennial to bring down an exhibition and try get it going, but basically why this exhibition is important to me, due to the fact the first piece that I ever did, lay my hands on canvass and paint I have it on display. Basically it look like something a kid did.”
Sanker, who spends most of his time in the United States, since quitting his job at the Philip Goldson Airport over a year ago, has decided to take up the challenge and paint full-time.

“Do anything in life as long as you are comfortable and you love what you are doing and you are seeing improvement in whatever you do, that’s basically what is happening right now.
What I do right now is paint full time and the public in general, the one that purchase a piece or the art critics, the art lovers, whatever, I would like to thank the public in general for supporting me, by simply saying, “I really like your work” and also the art buyers because they really support me.”
There are close to twenty pieces on display and all can be viewed at the Bliss Institute through Friday, October twenty fifth.
