Cabinet seeks to reverse U.D.P. land grants
In other government news today’s weekly Cabinet briefing reported that a number of decisions were reached at Tuesday’s meeting of that body. Among them are plans to reopen the farmers and small business bank created late in the last P.U.P. administration, and the upgrading of the post of Chief of Staff at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital to a full time position. At the same time the post of Deputy Director of Health Services will be eliminated. On the subject of land, Cabinet has reaffirmed its decision to review several grants made by the Esquivel administration. Among them are the giving of the old Liberty Hall building on Barrack Road to a company controlled by the Elrington brothers, as well as the sale of two hundred acres on the sea near Sarteneja Village to Mike Godoy for the sum of thirteen thousand dollars. In all cases government will seek to negotiate a satisfactory settlement with the persons involved.
