New CD released by Punta Rock star
He’s made it to the “Most Wanted” list, but no, punta rocker Aziatic is not being sought by the police. Instead the Los Angeles based artist is preparing to unleash his latest concoction of punta rock rhythms. The fifteen song collection is being promoted as the Punta Rock album of the year and Aziatic says he has woven his high-energy talents into an explicit tale.
Aziatic, Punta Rock Artist
“On the album we’ve got like, you know, just crazy, crazy rhythms going on, which is like different than the “Rebirth” which was the last album that I did. So what we’re trying to do right now is like go around, introduce the album to the public, try to get people to know the album and have some kind of oneness. I want everybody to listen to all the songs and as I understand it, right now, “Chatty Chatty” is like running things. And you know, “Flirting Vibe,” that’s another track we have on there. We have “Play That Music,” “Baruboun NuMari Nu” with me and Lloyd. We have tracks galore. It’s a fun album to listen to; it’s like we’re taking you through steps. It’s like a most wanted, so it’s like I’m being sought after by the authorities. It’s like everybody is having these strange hip problems, going to the hospital as a result of listening to the most wanted album; so its crazy, its nice.”
Q: “Is that why there is that parental warning on the label?”
Aziatic
“Oh for sure, you all better watch it. It’s not meant to be played with. We got crazy rhythms and of course we put that on there to like, make sure that everybody knows what they are getting into, because once you pop that into the tape deck, it’s at your own risk.”
Other artists featured on the album include Andy Palacio, Reckless, Lloyd Augustine and D.J. Morgan. This weekend Aziatic will be filming in Dangriga for the production of a music video to go along with the album. Those who want to see him in person will get that opportunity on Sunday night when he will hit the stage at the Belize City Centre for a one night show along with Punta Rebels.
