Bradley gets prison portfolio

In related news, anyone who has ever spent the night in the Queen Street lockup or its big brother up the road in Hattieville, knows that conditions there are not terribly different from the dungeons of the Middle Ages. And if there is one person who has consistently spoken out against the state of the Belizean penal system it is Dickie Bradley. Now it turns out that the lawyer and talk-show-host-turned-Attorney General, will be able to do more than just talk. In a move that was little noticed by the media, the Department of Prisons has been quietly transferred from the portfolio of Minister Jose Coye to that of Senator Bradley. With many of his former and current clients behind the walls there are few people in Belize who are more familiar with the prison problem than Dickie Bradley. With precious little to work with in the way of finance we wish him and General Arthurs the best of luck… as well as any support we are able to provide.
