Man fined $10,000 for 6 ounces of cannabis

Story PictureAnd yet another person has been fined ten thousand dollars for Drug Trafficking. The latest culprit is twenty-four year old Steve Arnold, a resident of Ladyville, who was today found guilty of the crime. Arnold’s charge arose from an incident on August twenty-third 2008. Police report that they were on mobile patrol on Main Street in Lord’s Bank when they saw Arnold acting in a suspicious manner. According to Corporal Emilio Patt, as he approached Arnold, he saw him throw a plastic bag to the ground. When police retrieved the item, they found that it contained just over six ounces of cannabis. During trial, Arnold initially denied throwing the bag, but later admitted to it when he was cross examined by Police Sergeant Frank Augustine. Magistrate Dorothy Flowers has given Arnold until July thirtieth to pay the fine or in default he will spend three years in prison.
