Concerned Mother Says Police Indifferent to Detained Son’s Health Issues

A mother took to the media today to vent her frustration after she says her efforts to explain to investigating officers that her son, Ashton Moody, who they detained, pending an investigation, has acute health issues and needed to undergo lab tests today. Danna Bull visited News Five’s office on Coney Drive to tell us that the police detained her son in Lemonal Village on Monday for a burglary that happened at a house in the village during the passage of Hurricane Lisa. Bull told News Five that she found out that police had her son detained on Monday and know that he had to see the doctor today to get the tests done.  She went to the police to ask them to afford him the time to get the tests done while they investigate the incident. But she told us that she got the cold treatment and the officers who held her son in custody were indifferent to his medical condition, despite the fact that she showed them the medical papers.

He had a clinic day this morning, he miss the clinic day this morning. Yesterday ih suppose to gone do the blood test fi ker da the clinic this morning, none ah that happen. Soh ah di explain to dehn from last night I tell dehn he need fi do ih clinic day because every two weeks or every week ih have to do this because dehn di tell wi ih wa end up have to do dialysis. Now my son deh lock up in deh and I tell dehn unu lock my son in ya and smell in deh. If he ketch an infection, who responsible? I gone deh just now weh wa happen. If I want know weh wa happen I must sit outside and wait til the policeman come who in charge ah it. And I explain again to dehn. That da nuh fi dehn business.”
