Barrow sworn in as Opposition Leader

Story Picture
Yesterday it was the sixteen members of the Cabinet who crammed into the Governor General’s Belmopan headquarters to take their oaths of office. Today there was a lot more room to move at Belize House as just one man: Leader of the Opposition Dean Barrow, took his oath of allegiance. No date has yet been set for the first meeting of the National Assembly, and with the exception of the P.U.P.’s Dickie Bradley, no Senators have been officially named by either party or the Governor General. The U.D.P. puts its best foot forward at a press conference scheduled for Thursday morning where they will announce their two nominees, while later that night Dean Barrow will be Stuart Leslie’s first post-election guest on Channel Five’s “One on One”.
