NICH to Place Strong Focus on Youth Development

With a background in youth development, Vasquez says investment in young and upcoming artists will be made a priority under her leadership. She told us what that will look like.

“My foundation was actually youth development, I was the youth development. So, definitely anything concerning the next generation of artist and creative will be one of the key facets of ICA. I look forward to working with stakeholders like BELTRAIDE and BTB, as we said, moving towards a creative economy. But, a part of that is ensuring that sustainability has to be working as well with our youth stakeholders and working closely with the Ministry of Education. You know, we have been doing this for years, developing the programs and some of them are geared towards older artists. But, we also try to keep that balance where we ensure we have activities and training as well for younger persons, children and youths as well.”
