TACA offers special anniversary fares

Belizeans will not be the only ones celebrating the Bicentennial anniversary of the Battle of St. George’s Caye. Grupo TACA has gotten into the festive mood and today announced new fares for the September Celebrations. The thirty day excursion tickets, dubbed two hundred for two hundred, will be available from August twenty-sixth to September thirtieth.

“The two hundred is two hundred years and the other two hundred is two hundred dollars. We are offering a two hundred dollar fare round trip to New Orleans, round trip to Miami, round trip to Houston. It is two hundred U.S. dollars. We are also offering the two hundred dollar fare to Los Angeles and San Francisco. And this will be two hundred dollars in each direction because this is a much longer route.

TACA feels that this is a time to celebrate. Bicentennials come once every two hundred years. It really is something to celebrate and we would like not only to celebrate with Belizeans but help Belizeans celebrate as well. It is a gesture of good will. It is a reduction of about forty-five percent in the normal fares. We hope the Belizean people will take advantage of it and enjoy TACA’s services.”

Another announcement made at today’s press conference was the temporary change in time of TACA’s daily flight to Miami. Until November first the flight will arrive at twelve thirty and leave Belize City at one twenty in the afternoon. The airline has also made a decision to suspend direct service between Belize and New Orleans until November first.
