A Burglar Is Arrested and Charged After Being Caught In a Church
A burglar, who was caught inside a church stealing, pretended to be using the bathroom to stave off attention that he had already drawn to himself after prying open the back door to the church. Tonight, twenty-five-year-old Evander Usher is spending his first night in jail and, unless he can convince a Supreme Court judge to grant him bail, will remain there until January twenty-fourth, 2023 when his next court date comes up. Police allege that on Friday, November eighteenth, Usher entered Universal Church of the Kingdom of God on Central American Boulevard. But he stole nothing. Sanjay Rosedon, and Jonathan Garcia, two pastors who live at the church building told police that shortly after three that morning, they heard a noise at the backdoor of the church and they called 911. According to the two pastors, they saw a man pull a hat over his face and enter through the backdoor. However, when he saw the two pastors standing inside the church, he closed the backdoor. Police arrived quickly and detained him.
