Leonardo Mesh Challenges Charge for Fisheries Offense

Leonardo Mesh

Another fisherman, also from Chunox Village, was equally charged for the offense of fishing in a conservation zone. Thirty-five-year-old Leonardo Mesh, however, is challenging the allegations brought against him by the Fisheries Department. On November eleventh, Mesh was discovered in the vicinity of Dog Flee Caye where he was found in possession of forty-two conchs.  Dog Flee Caye is within the Blackbird Caye Conservation Zone.  Mesh initially pleaded guilty to the offense, but when the facts were presented in court, he did not accept them and instead entered a plea of not guilty.  He was offered bail in the sum of two thousand, five hundred dollars and is due back in court on January fifteenth, 2023.
