John Saldivar’s Political Future is Against the Ropes, is He Going Down?
Should the U.S. government not honor the U.D.P.’s request, what happens next for John Saldivar whose political future now hangs in the balance amid the grave allegations being made against him?
Mike Peyrefitte, Chairman, United Democratic Party
“It’s an internal matter. If we don’t get the evidence from the State Department then we will proceed to an assessment and a recommendation as to what we think should be in the best interest of the U.D.P. And to be fair, you used a huge word there, a huge word that sums up all of that mouthful that you just said, which is, you’re talking about allegations. We need evidence. You don’t designate a person, we don’t believe that I go into the US Embassy and say I think that such and such and such and such and they designate you based on that. I don’t think that they would do that. So we want to know what evidence that they have. We want to know, we’re asking them as a part who was in government for twelve years, we cooperated as two nations to fight against crime in general. We’re saying, “Look, if you have evidence, we would like to see that evidence for us to be able to be in a position to assess what’s going on as a party that will be in government again. We want to know what’s going on.” I think that’s only fair for the UDP to ask.”
