Three men rob Jackie’s Supermarket and customers
Jackie’s Supermarket on Dolphin Drive in Belize City was robbed last night. Forty-two year old Jian Xianey Zheng, the proprietor of the store, which is located in the yard behind Golf Hotel, said that on Monday at approximately seven p.m., he was inside the supermarket along with his wife and his brother when three customers entered followed by three male robbers. One of the men pointed a black nine-millimeter pistol at him then hit his brother, injuring his left finger. The other two men jumped over the counter and stole money from the cash register, several Digicell and Smart phone cards and two cellular phones. The building was being monitored by a security camera that was connected to a computer behind the counter, so the thieves also took the computer and monitor. They then robbed the customers of their purses and wallets and got away in a green Toyota Camry.
