Design Depot Employees Charged for Theft and Handling Stolen Goods
Twenty-seven-year-old Malcolm Morris Baptist, a warehouse keeper, and twenty-three-year-old Zachary Tun, a maintenance worker of Santa Clara Village, Corozal District, appeared unrepresented in the magistrate’s court earlier today where they pleaded guilty to charges of theft and handling stolen goods. Baptist was first to be arraigned on one count of handling stolen goods for a television wall mount that is the property of Design Depot.
Opting not to waste the court’s time, Baptist told the Senior Magistrate that he cooperated with the police investigation and returned the television wall mount. Baptist was ultimately fined five hundred and fifty dollars, plus cost of court. Zachary Tun was up next, he was charged with theft and also pleaded guilty. He was subsequently fined for one thousand, four hundred and twenty dollars and was given until March 31st, 2023 to pay the fine or in default he will spend three months in prison.
