Basketball team loses first game in Venezuela
We knew that the competition would be extremely stiff but still, ever since the CARICOM Basketball Championships, we’ve come to believe in miracles. Not so any longer. Our national men’s basketball team lost its opening game in the Caribbean and Central American Games Wednesday night to host country Venezuela. Depending on which report you listen to it was either ninety-two to eighty-nine or ninety-two to eighty-seven. In any case the team was said to have played well, with Milton Palacio scoring thirty points against the home town favorites. The team was scheduled to go up against Panama this evening.
