Life Sentences for Raheem Budram and Kareem Eaghan Jr.
A pair of Belize City residents, convicted for the murder of forty-three-year-old Shane Budram, has been sentenced to life in prison. Raheem Budram and Kareem Eaghan Junior will not be eligible for parole until they have spent the next thirty-seven years in jail. Earlier today, Justice Ricardo O’Neil Sandcroft handed down lengthy prison terms after the men were found guilty of the deadly assault on Raheem’s uncle during which he was shot as many as ten times. The incident followed a heated verbal exchange between Shane Budram and his nephew at a residence near Berkeley Street back in February 2020. Relying on testimonies provided by the Crown’s primary witnesses, Justice Sandcroft found them both guilty of Budram’s murder. The men have been sentenced to forty years at the Belize Central Prison, however, their time on remand has been deducted from the overall bid.
