63 Belizeans to receive Master’s Degrees from U.N.F.
On Sunday morning the gym at Landivar will be the venue for an historic event, as sixty-three Belizeans, whose names are now running on your screen, will see their hard work rewarded with the bestowing of Master’s Degrees in Education from the University of North Florida. The special program between the U.S. university and U.C.B. involved three years of courses. Forty-two students completed all their requirements on the U.C.B. campus while twenty-one did two summers in Belize and one semester at the U.N.F. campus in Jacksonville. On hand for the ceremony, which begins at eleven a.m., will be a host of local dignitaries including the Prime Minister, Governor General and U.C.B. administrators. Coming from Florida will be university president Dr. E.K. Fretwell and five top officials. News Five joins the relatives, friends and professional colleagues of these sixty-three graduates, in offering a hearty congratulations.
