Kareem Musa Donates to Belize Basketball Federation

This afternoon, Minister Kareem Musa was also able to make a donation of basketball tennis shoes to the president of the Belize Basketball Federation’s junior national team.  The donation of footwear, according to Musa, came from N.B.A. star Reggie Bullock and Alex Lavin.

“If you would recall when Reggie Bullock, the player from the Dallas Mavericks, came and he did an exhibition and he engaged with our young people, I mentioned then the importance of investing in our youths.  You could never go wrong with an investment in young people, whether its education or in sports and he requested back then a donation from us in terms of tennis shoes.  Right away I immediately activated my different networks to try to see how we could get a donation.  As I said before, the Ministry of New Growth Industries doesn‘t necessarily have a budget to assist with those things, but we do have a lot of partners and a lot of networking that we can tap into.  And so, we were able to get, he gave us the shoe sizes and we were able to get twenty-four pairs of tennis shoes and we were able to get a donation from Mr. Alex Lavin, the consultant for New Growth Industries and he donated the tennis shoes.”
