Edward Cabanas Free From Jail After Four Years on Remand
Thirty-year-old Edward Cabanas is free from jail tonight after he was handed a suspended sentence on a remaining prison term. Back in 2012, Cabanas stabbed his sibling three times in the thigh and the injuries that Brandon Bahadur received ultimately led to his death. On October twenty-first, Cabanas pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of manslaughter. He was sentenced to five years in prison, but having served four on remand, a suspended sentence was imposed on the remaining time. That means, however, that Cabanas must walk the straight and narrow for the next three years or risk being re-incarcerated to serve out the remaining year.
