Police Seeks Public Assistance in Cracking Double Murder Investigation

An arrest is yet to be made in a deadly Sunday afternoon shooting in Belize City that claimed the lives of Cleon Smith Junior and Kendale Ramirez.  Despite the mother of Smith’s infant son being taken into police custody for questioning, as well as her current boyfriend, no one has been charged for the double homicide.  In fact, it is being reported that upon release, Smith’s ex-girlfriend is planning to leave the country.  Earlier today, the Minister of Home Affairs was asked to provide an update on the matter, notwithstanding the purported developments.  Here’s how he responded to that question.

“I would not want to comment on that particular case at this time.  Of course, the investigation is ongoing, but as soon as we get a briefing from the Commissioner of Police in terms of what can be divulged to the media then I will disclose that information.  But, as of right now, I don’t wish to discuss anything on that.”
