U.S. Fugitive, Caught in Caye Caulker, Handed over to U.S. Authorities
Earlier this week, U.S. fugitive Aldrick Scott was detained in Caye Caulker and handed over to U.S law enforcement. He is now being held in custody, but Scott is wanted in connection with the disappearance and possible murder of his girlfriend, Cari Allen, a resident of Nebraska. Allen remains missing tonight and reports are that Scott is facing a warrant for kidnapping. The American fugitive, and former member of the military, has been living on Caye Caulker for about three weeks and had been employed at Google Grill; it was Chef Shalton Fuentes who reported him to police. Today, Minister of Home Affairs, Kareem Musa spoke of the incident and police’s investigation into it.
Kareem Musa, Minister of Home Affairs
“The good news is that the fugitive has been caught and he will be extradited to his home country in the United States and so I think that’s a good thing. Of course we want to thank the local individual who actually turned in the fugitive so that’s good news for us.”

“Will an investigation be carried out to see his whereabouts? Where he was on the village because this was an accused murderer staying here for the past three weeks with no one having any knowledge of his true identity.”
Kareem Musa
“I am certain that the police will not go based on the individual’s sole account, whatsoever. I am sure that he has a part in giving his statement, but that is not the sole part for the investigation. Obviously the police is going to go further in depth in that investigation to see, like you said, how he entered the country, where he was staying on the island and that type of thing. So I don’t in any way think that that is the end of it whatsoever. Once he was detained and information came from the United States, then obviously there is an investigation that takes place after that.”
