Suspect arrested in Orange Walk murder
In other crime news police have arrested a suspect in the chopping death of an Orange Walk man on Saturday night. Thirty-two year old Guatemalan Rene Trochez has been charged for the crimes of murder and conspiracy to murder. Two other suspects are still being sought by police although reports into News Five late this evening is that one of the wanted men may have been apprehended in Orange Walk. The charges are the result of an incident on the San Lorenzo Road. Twenty five year old Martha Magdalena Garcia told police that three men armed with machetes came to her home around seven thirty Saturday night asking for her husband, Mexican national Marco Cruz. Garcia claims that when Cruz refused to accompany the visitors to a neighboring village to buy marijuana he was chopped in the head and face and later died of his injuries.
