TACA bans smoking as of September first

For many viewers this may be the most important news this program has carried in months, if not years. Today Grupo TACA, the parent company of TACA Airlines, announced that beginning September first its flights will no longer allow smoking. Most other carriers banned the practice long ago but according to a TACA press release the airline was finally pressured by numerous requests from passengers to clean up its act. While travelling smokers may have to literally bite the bullet for what may become a two-hour ordeal, the high-flying public is assured that TACA’s long entrenched policy of serving unlimited free liquor will remain unchanged.
