Human Remains Found in Shallow Grave; Foul Play Suspected
Police are reporting the discovery of human remains believed to be that of a man who was reported missing about two years ago. Just after midday on Tuesday, officers visited a farm located at mile forty-one on the Hummingbird Highway, Cayo District. They were directed to an area at the end of an Orange Orchard where they discovered a shallow grave, with what appeared to be human remains. Police say that the scene was photographed and the bones were retrieved and taken to the Western Regional Hospital Morgue. Assistant Superintendent Fitzroy Yearwood shared details with the media.

“They were led to what they believe were human remains of a male. Yes the person that led them to these remains explained that this person may have been reported missing some time ago. So we are going through our records and archives to see if we can find the identity of the remains that we have. But as soon as we find that out, I will relay that to you.”

“Sir we are understanding that the remains were found in a shallow grave. Almost always when you hear shallow grave, you are thinking foul play.”

“Like I said Duane, we are doing our examinations. I am certain that the doctors will do a post-mortem on the remains and hopefully we could confirm whether or not foul play was done to that person or if it is natural.”
