Aggravated Assault in Dangriga; Woman in Stabbed
There was an aggravated assault report coming out of Dangriga. It occurred in the wee small hours of Friday night at Island Breeze Restaurant. Reports are that Hopkins resident Eden Pauline Nunez was socializing with relatives at the establishment when a squabble ensued and she was stabbed to the lower back by another woman, who has since been detained by police. Nunez was transported to the hospital for medical treatment. ASP Fitzroy Yearwood says that Crystal Smith has since been detained pending charges of aggravated assault.

“Police responded to a report where they visited the Southern Regional Hospital and observed Eden Pauline Nunez, eighteen years, with a stab wound to the back. Initial investigation reveal that sometime around 1:30 a.m., Eden Nunez was socialising with two of her friends at Island Breeze Restaurant where she accidentally knocked over a drink that was on a table belonging to a female, known to the police. An argument ensued and Eden walked away. When she turned around, she realised that she was being followed by a young lady Crystal who inflicted the stab wound to her. We know that she was rushed to the hospital where she was placed under observation, listed in a stable condition and we have since detained Crystal Smith pending charges of aggravated assault.”
