Angel Dorado Alleges Police Brutality; is Arraigned for Aggravated Burglary

Forty-two-year-old Angel Dorado was arraigned earlier today on a battery of charges, including attempted burglary, damage to property and assaulting a police officer. But during his arraignment, the resident of Eight Miles told the court that he is the victim of police brutality and showed the senior magistrate his badly injured face and a bruised left eye.  It is alleged that on December seventeenth, Dorado attempted to enter the residence of his estranged common-law wife in Ladyville. His purported intention was to cause bodily harm to the woman. Police were called to the scene and Dorado was taken into custody. While in detention, however, he reportedly assaulted Corporal Elijah Cobb. Notwithstanding his injuries, Dorado was charged with an additional count of assaulting the officer. The laborer is represented by attorney Ronell Gonzalez. No objection was granted to bail and Dorado was subsequently released on a bond of two thousand, five hundred dollars, plus one surety of the same amount. The terms of his bail lay out several restrictions, including reporting to the Hattieville Police Station every Friday.
