Wedding attire on beach is a mystery

Story Picture
Most of the weird events we’ve been experiencing over the last few months have been related to the ongoing political campaign… but this afternoon we were called to look at an occurrence that seems to have come right out of — not the voter registration files — but the X Files. Patrick Jones investigated.

Residents of Sea Shore Drive in the Buttonwood Bay area of Belize City awoke this morning to find this most unusual piece of artwork in their neighborhood.

The explanations for the peculiar display could be many, and while we are in no way laying claim to the answer, we venture the following possible explanation:

The wedding ensemble, which includes an apparently new wedding dress, veil, bouquet and ring bearer’s pillows, could belong to a bride who was left standing at the altar and is now sending a public message to the groom who got cold feet. Or it could be that somebody is just out to get a good laugh at the expense of someone else. Or, as my colleague Jacqueline Woods suggested, maybe it belongs to a mermaid who found that the flowing attire cramped her swimming style and neatly abandoned her clothing to necessitate the quick exit.

Whatever the case, residents of the area don’t find the scene amusing and would only hope that if it’s a prank, that it is the last one in the artist’s bag. Patrick Jones, for News Five.

Any viewers who would care to offer an explanation of how the bride’s outfit came to be there, what it means, or even the implications for Boledo — you’re invited to call News Five. Just ask for Patrick Jones, psychic investigator.
