The Winners of the Chief’s “Single Cien” Boxing Day Cycling Race
Rain did not stop the Chief’s “Single Cien” Boxing Day cycling race on Monday. Organized by the Weekend Warriors and Gonzalez Cycling Clubs, and sponsored by Santiago Castillo Junior, approximately one hundred and four riders competed for the title, including thirty-four elite riders. The one hundred kilometer race took a route from the Pallotti bus stop up the Philip Goldson Highway through Burrell Boom/Hattieville circuit along the George Price Highway. The turning point was at the Mile eight roundabout and returning by the same route to the finish line at San Cas Plaza. Mexican rider Gabriel Cardozo of the Santino’s team won the ‘A’ category, while Joshua Fuller of 501 Valvoline won the Elite race. In the ‘B’ category, Isaiah Willacey came in first and Peter Jones of Team Fun and Fitness crossed the finish line before two others. Female cyclist Kaya Cattouse won first place, riding for team Running Rebels. There were several other winners from each of the categories who received medals and cash prizes.
