Meighan Brothers Summoned to Court
The Meighan brothers were summoned to court today after it was reported that their passports were not handed over to the court before they posted bail on Wednesday. Siblings Tyrone and Ellis Meighan were offered bail of thirty thousand dollars each for being a member of a gang. They were ordered to surrender their passports, which were handed in by their mother, even though it expired in November of 2021. It was part of their bail conditions for which Justice Ricardo Sandcroft is taking no chances. And so for a short period, the Meighan brothers appeared to have been in big trouble with the law for seemingly violating one of the conditions of their bail but it was just the judge keeping a very close tab on them. It was brought to the attention of Justice Sandcroft this evening that Tyrone and Ellis Meighan had posted their bail, but had not yet surrendered their passports to the court. That red flag triggered the judge to summon the Meighan siblings before the court. Within twenty minutes, Justice Sandcroft told the Meighan brothers that all was in order and that he would not be revoking their bail given the situation that was easily addressed. Ellis and Tyrone Meighan are to reappear in the Belize City Supreme Court on January tenth, 2023.
