D-Revelation to tour L.A., release new CD
They are a band with a message… the kind that has people moving both physically and spiritually. Today News Five’s Arreini Palacio takes a look at the latest from D-Revelation.

“Payday” is a funny thing, some people look forward to it and honestly some people don’t.”
But this is one payday that everyone should be looking forward to. It did not come on the fifteenth and it is still a few days from month’s end but D-Revelation believes that it is the perfect time to release their first CD “Payday”. According to D-Revelation’s Paul Flowers this is one voucher that is coming with a powerful message.

“The main purpose of “Payday” is to create a frenzy in people. People can say payday really di come and it is something that some people don’t want to think about. I think that the Belizean society has reached a state where they prefer not to be told what is wrong with them, and probably they won’t want to stand around and listen to it. But if we produce a CD that is good enough they will listen to it and be told that way.”
And fans will be told in several ways, even in punta rock.
Paul Flowers
“We have on the “Payday” CD an excellent array of songs. We have ska; we have punta rock; we have reggae; we have conscious music, soul and dancehall. It is for a broadbased audience. Lucky for us there are two hit songs on the CD already. The theme songs for the stay in school jam is there, “Be no fool stay in school,” and ten thousand kids fell in love with that. We had released a song especially for the prisoners “Second Chance” and the CD contains this song.”
This may have been the hardest project for the six-year-old band, which according to Flowers has changed Belizean gospel music.
Paul Flowers
“Gospel music used to be considered for the most part a slow music with a Country and Western beat. And we who are in the new generation found out that the young people were disillusioned by the type of music. Some of them embrace it while some did not find it relevant to their times. So D-Revelation’s sole purpose at that time was to revolutionize gospel music.”
This revolt seems to have worked as the band’s popularity continues to rise. D-Revelation will soon be leaving for their Los Angeles Payday tour where they will continue to push the message.
Paul Flowers
“Our “Payday” that we are discussing is a different payday; it is a spiritual payday. It is when you are held accountable for what you did. I don’t know if some people are looking forward to it and some people might not, but the bottom line is D-Revelation wants you to know that guys, watch what you are doing because there is a payday and payday di come.”
“Payday” will come to music stores after D-Revelation returns from their tour on August twelfth. Arreini Palacio for News Five.
