Channel Five wins two in C.B.U. merit awards
And in a milestone of a more personal nature the Caribbean Broadcasting Union today announced the winners of its annual merit awards. Channel Five was singled out for recognition in two categories. William Neal, Stewart Krohn and Rick Romero won the award for best feature in the commerce and industry category for their story on shopping in Chetumal, while for the third year in a row the station received the President’s award as the broadcaster making the greatest contribution to C.B.U. programming. The television station receiving the most awards was Jamaica’s C.V.M. which took home an unprecedented six citations. Formal presentations will be made at a ceremony in Barbados on August seventh.
