Will Lotteries Committee Revoke Brads’ Gaming License?
The Lotteries Committee, under the Investment Policy and Compliance Unit, intends to consider revoking the license granted to the Brads Gaming Group Limited. On December twenty-third, Chairperson of the Lotteries Committee Narda Garcia wrote to the managing director of Brads Gaming Group Limited regarding the company’s compliance with the conditions of its exclusive license to conduct the government lotteries. Under consideration is whether the company has failed to abide by the conditions and regulations pertaining to the sale of tickets in the form prescribed by the Lotteries Committee, as well as tickets being sold bearing the mark lodged with the Lotteries Committee. Likewise, B.G.G.L. has failed to consult with the Lotteries Committee to establish a system in tandem with the Income Tax Department and Lotteries Committee for the gathering of sales data, among other alleged infractions. The Lotteries Committee calls upon Brads Gaming to submit a written response no later than January sixteenth, 2023 stating whether it disputes the alleged breaches, as well as provide a reason why the committee ought not to exercise its power to revoke the company’s license. Earlier today, News Five reached out to Senior Counsel Dean Barrow who represents Brads Gaming. He told us that he was in the process of consulting with his client and, as such, could not provide a comment on the matter.
