Hilberto Martinez is Second Murder Victim for 2023

A volley of gunshots echoed in the vicinity of Antelope Street Extension overnight and when the shooting subsided, a resident of Hilda Street laid dead not far away. Hilberto Martinez was gunned down around three a.m., and his death is the second murder to be recorded for 2023.  Commissioner of Police Chester Williams:

“In terms of the shooting or the murder in Belize City, this morning around three a.m., police responded to information of shots fired on Hilda Street, in the Antelope Street Extension area, where they saw the lifeless body of one Hilberto Martinez.  He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.  At this time, police are still searching for a motive, as well as those persons who may be responsible for that latest murder.  As soon as additional information in respect to that murder is received, we will be more than share with you, the members of the media.”
