Benque man dies in crash on Bullet Tree Rd.

A Saturday night outing in the Cayo District has ended in tragedy for four friends in the Cayo District. According to San Ignacio police, at about seven they were called out to one and a half miles on the Bullet Tree Road. There they saw a black Toyota pick up truck overturn. Inside the vehicle they found twenty-three year old Rolando Rosado Jr., a survey technician of Benque Viejo, suffering from severe head injuries. Traveling along with Rosado were Santa Familia residents, eighteen year old Alex Valladares and eighteen year old Jacob Puewell as well as seventeen year old Nelson Mis. All of the victims were transported to the San Ignacio Hospital where Rosado was pronounced dead on arrival. The three injured passengers have been transferred to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital in Belize City. Police say Rosado apparently lost control of the vehicle and it overturned. At this time they are awaiting the results of blood tests taken from the victims to see if alcohol played any role in the fatal accident.
