“Talk Caribbean” debuts on Monday
A new concept in regional broadcasting will be tested on Monday night as viewers in over sixteen Caribbean territories will tune in to “Talk Caribbean,” the Caribbean Broadcasting Union’s first attempt at live interactive television. In good news for Belizean viewers the show’s time has been pushed back to seven thirty, allowing our newscast to run overtime, as it usually does on Monday’s. An additional bonus is an agreement between Channel Five and B.T.L. under which Belizeans will be able to call into the talk show — which originates in Barbados — free of charge by using a special eight hundred number that will be announced during the show. The host of “Talk Caribbean,” Julian Rogers, is an entertaining and engaging media personality whose inaugural guests will be several members of Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz World Cup football team.
