Samuel August Gets Twenty-five Years in Prison
Thirty-nine-year-old Samuel August Senior, the father accused of killing his five-year-old son and the little boy’s grandmother, has been sentenced to twenty-five years in prison. The lengthy sentence was handed down by Justice Susan Lamb earlier today. In court, the presiding judge informed August that because he took two lives, the judgment must reflect the gravity of those crimes, hence the reason why his sentence was set at thirty-five years. As we reported a few weeks ago, August pleaded guilty to the offenses and, for that reason, a third of his sentence was deducted, leaving him with twenty-five years. He is not eligible for parole until he has served twenty years of that sentence. Samuel August Senior is currently serving a seven-year prison term for armed robbery.
