“First off all I would like to express the B.P.P.’s condolences to the entire family. What prompted us to do this is that our country, we are losing valuable people. Any life that is lost in our country is a valuable life, somebody that could contribute. But, here we have young, promising Belizeans who were not just sitting around but they were making contributions to this country, the fisheries officers, and the conservation officer and we are sad, very sad. I don’t think we had to go through this if due diligence are done when the police are recruiting their people, if they hold people accountable. Crimes have been committed that should have been found out years ago and is still being committed today. We join the rest of the nation in mourning the loss of these great Belizeans who have contributed a lot to Belize. The people in the know, the government, the police department should seek professional advice in what is the best way to go about to bring these criminals to justice. I would also like to call on the minister to have a complete audit of our police department. There are a lot of people in there that should not be in there. And we need to do and audit to faze those people out, because we cannot continue to lose young Belizeans the way we are losing them today.”
